About Future Bound Independent Study

Future Bound is a separate alternative Independent Study High School located on the Montecito High School campus. Future Bound is for students in grades 9 through 12 who are interested in a non-traditional school program. Students attend a weekly meeting with their teacher and complete their courses at home. The weekly coursework is the same quality and quantity grade level courses that meet graduation requirements at Ramona Unified School District’s other high schools. Future Bound is not an accredited school.

Future Bound operates on a semester schedule and enrolls between 32 and 35 students total annually.

Independent Study can be challenging. Students and parents are encouraged to consider their students' learning style and needs. If parents and students have questions, please reach out to your guidance counselor or to the Future Bound staff.
